The Hill Capital - Kandy
The capital of Kandyan Kingdom in the 16th century is 130 Kilometres from Colombo and situated 465 metres above sea level. This Royal City fell into the hands of the British when the last Kandyan King Sri Vickrama Rajasinha was captured by them in 1815.
Flowers and Orchids
The Sinharaja rain-forest is one of the few existing forests in Asia. It is primeval sanctuary for oner 175 varieties of exotic orchids.Horton Plains a remote plateau is the home of fauna and flora found no where else in the world.
